| Ok so I had to upgrade the site to version 2 of eFiction. Now I shall explain why. The original/old version which I loved and will miss because I modded the hell out it and am not looking forward to having to do it all again with this newer version, but I digress...the old version had to be ran with Register_globals 'on, I'm not sure if any of you know what I'm talking about. In essences running your websites/servers with the register_globals on is a huge security risk and if you're on a hosted site they would never allow you to do it...this is a hackers dream. To be honest I really wasn't too concerned, and would have happily ran the site with register_globals on, however, I have recently been informed that the newer version of php, which has to be enabled on my server in order to run the site at all, the newer version 'requires' that register_globals be turned 'off', no if, ands, or buts about it. So upgrading was necessary otherwise in a couple of months we would have had no site, site would have gone bye, bye. I know most of us don't like change, as I said I will miss the older version, but please know that this version has some neat stuff too, and what it doesn't have I will try my darnest to mod it in. As always if you see any bugs let me know and I'll grab the Raid and get to work ;) Pari |
