Thundercats Returns on Cartoon Network

Hey, is it still 2010? Because it's starting to feel like 1985 again. Transformers and G.I. Joe are back, but on the big screen now. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is coming back, thanks to Michael Bay. And now Cartoon Network is developing a new Thundercats animated series, according to a press release sent out today.

The Thundercats were aliens from the planet Thundera who just happened to look like beefcake heroes with whiskers and paws. You might remember their catch phrase, "Thundercats ho!" Lion-O led Cheetara, Panthro, Tygra, WilyKit and Snarf. They battled Mumm-Ra on Third Earth with both magical and futuristic weapons. And they all learned something each week.

I can't wait!
I wanted to be a Thundercat soooo bad when I was a little girl!

This isn't Thundercat related, but ABC is showing reruns of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers on Saturday mornings. I was so excited! I've noticed that popular shows from the 80's and 90's are very in right now.

It's official: The ThunderCats are on the move. Yes, the ThunderCats are loose.

This week's reveal of the first official image from the new "ThunderCats" animated series has quickly made Warner Bros. Animation's upcoming reboot of the late-'80s cartoon one of the week's biggest topics here on Splash Page. The new image debuted just a day after a blurry photo of a "ThunderCats" promotional poster found its way online, and gave us the first good look at how Lion-O, Panthro, Cheetara, and Tygra will appear in the series.

Given the volume of questions the new image has prompted around the 'net, we're excited to bring you an exclusive interview with "ThunderCats" producer Ethan Spaulding, who gave us the inside scoop on the redesign and what it means for the much-anticipated animated series.
