Forum Upgrades

Now that there seems to be more activity on this board, I will add more features that I hadn't bother with before. We will have private messaging, who's online, captcha, preview feature, avatars, etc...I have purchased these features long ago but only implemented them on the forum I put up on my Spuffy site, only because that forum gets use about as much as the main site, it's so active I had to get mods. I'm happy to see this forum getting used too.

I hope you guys will add your own avatars See mine, I made a larger/different one out of the same two pics you can see it on my profile page (Just click my name). 'Ro's got the Mohawk, actually its a Mohawk, mullet, rat tail sort of style, but I like the way she's drawn.

With the avatars you must be mindful of the size restriction (100x100 - 20kb)

Love the new forum features! I love icons, so the added option of uploading avatars makes me very happy.

Your Avie looks good Marbles!! I could upload a variety of avies that members can choose from, but I want ppl to have their own original one.

Oh haha, thanks Pari - but I just cropped and tinkered with the colors a bit, off one of my favorite RoLo panels. And I love yours! Kaare Andrews did a fantastic job with the Xenogenesis run on Astonishing X-Men. Ororo's mohawk was crazy amazing.

And I think uploading some avatars for members to choose from is a good idea. Not everyone has access to making their own icons. I'm willing to contribute a few really simple ones, as well.

Just checked in and saw the change. At first I was a little taken aback, (I'm an old dog, gotta learn new tricks ...but I see the switch up already growing on me. Wish I were more savvy to do more with my profile. I know given time I will adjust. Just glad the site is still here.

This is more of a site layout thing, I think, but could you make the whole thing wider? There's a lot of wasted space at the sides, and i'm not even viewing on a widescreen. And the narrowness of the layout makes the avatars look huge and there's lot more vertical scrolling than there needs to be.

Also, maybe I'm just being thick, but there's no obvious way of telling which forum/thread has new posts except for the list at the bottom, so anything older than that, but that I haven't seen might be missed.

Otherwise I love the changes to both the site & forum.

Sorry Ana, but being that I view it and mod on a 27 inch screen, it's the right size. Even when I looked on a 17in laptop screen, it still seems to fit. Not too big not too small, just right. I think it's because of the nav bar and chat box on the side, that does take up quite a bit of space. I'll see if there's a default template I can provide the link to for you.

I actually prefer a slightly narrow width since I have trouble scanning a line of text from one side of the screen to the other. This layout seems perfect for me.
