Later, Phoenix fixes the Crystal and traps D'Ken in it. To protect the Crystal she takes it to the sun. The Phoenix Saga ends with Cyclops mourning Jean's apparent death. Spider-Man and War Machine make partial cameos in this episode. War Machine uses his booster rockets to protect a person from harm, and Spider-man's arm is seen shooting a web to save someone from one of the many disasters occurring on earth due to the release of the energies of the M'Kraan Crystal.
