John walked into Capricorn and caught the tail-end of a conversation
that Cristian and Evangeline were having and said."Did I hear my
name come up?"
Evangeline smiled and said."It was out of concern John."
"It's ok."John replied
"We really were not trying to talk about you."
"It's ok.No explanations necessary.I'll, ah, see if I can have Dr.Crosby
send over my chart for you."John said snidely and then walked off.
A few minutes later Evangeline walked up to John and said."John.
I'm worried about you."
"Well, look if it's about what happened at the church, I didn't do
anything wrong."John replied
"Well, I know you.Something is eating at you and if it's not that then
what?"
"I'm not even sure anymore."he said sadly
"I hope that means you're thinkin about talking to Dr.Crosby again."
"I'm not going back to Dr.Crosby.Internal Affairs isn't there to build
you up, they're there to tear you down."
"What if he can help?"Evangeline asked
"Help what?At the end of the day I did my job.And you know what,
if I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a damn thing.I walked
away.Mike walked away.The bad guy won't be walking the streets
anymore.And for all of that I got suspended from active duty so I
guess it doesn't matter anyway, does it?Now if you'll excuse me
I just want to drink my drink in peace."he said turning away sadly
Evangeline walked away and started to leave,but then she got an
idea.She just hoped it would get through to him.
She went up on the stage,took the microphone and said."John this
song is for you.I want you to really listen to it and know that I'm doing
this because I love you.

When she finished the song John walked up to her and said."You
broke through."
"Really.Does that mean you are going to go back to Dr.Crosby and
take the therapy seriously.I want you to get the help you need so
that you can be a whole person again.Then maybe one day you
can tell me that you love me, because even though you've never
been able to say it, I know that you do love me."
"Yeah maybe someday.I'll go back to the Doc as long as you well
let me borrow some of that hope, because all of mine has been gone
for a long time."
Evangeline put her hand up and said."Take my hand.Don't give up."
John took her hand and they walked out of Capricorn hopeful of
a bright future.
