Hello My Love
(John's POV)
A week after Evangeline's accident I went to see her and she
immediately started trying to get rid of me, but the more she
tried to push me away the more I was determined to stay and
fight.
"Evangeline, please you have to give me a chance to tell you how I
feel."
"John don't do this.I know that you're only doing this because of my
accident.Well I don't want or need your pity."
"No wait.The last thing I would ever do is pity you.I mean you may
have lost your sight, but that doesn't change who you are.You are
still the strongest person I know.That's why I love you so much.
Because no matter what you can take care of yourself."
"So you're telling me this isn't pity.That is the biggest load of crap
I've ever heard."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well let's see.I spent months waiting to hear you tell me you love
me, then we broke up and you took up with that redheaded skank,
now I've had an accident and lost my sight.Tell me what else am I
supposed to think other than you feel sorry for me?"
"First of all, you're right Natalie is a skank.I know that now, I'm just
sorry that it took me so long to see that and I'm sorry that it took
this to make me realize that you were and will always be my
yesterday today and tomorrow."
"John I can't do this right now, please leave me alone."
"Fine I'll leave, but I'm not giving up on you or us."
"There is no us, John.Now please leave."
I got up and went to the door.I opened it and closed it back.
I stood still for a minute so she would think I was gone.Then I quietly
walked over to the stereo and put in the cd that I made and started
singing.

When I finished I walked over to her and said."Now do you believe me?"
She smiled and said."I don't know.Let me see if you're telling the
truth."then she put her hands on my face and started moving her
thumbs around on my face.She moved them on to my lips and
I smiled.
When she felt the tears on my cheeks she started crying and said.
"I believe you and I love you too, John."
I leaned in toward her and whispered."I love you so much, Evangeline."
then I kissed her and we held on to each other for what seemed like
a lifetime.
Now 3 months later I'm sitting in the waiting room of the surgical wing
of the hospital.
Evangeline is in surgery.The doctor's are trying to repair the damage
cause by the beam that fell on her during the tornado.
Layla, Nora, Bo, Cristian, Lisa, Clay, Mikey and me have been pacing
the room for hours.I'm about to go crazy when the elevator door open
and Dr. Ford steps off.
"How is she doctor?"
"She made it through the operation beautifully.I think we were able
to repair the damage, but we won't know for sure until we take her
bandages off in a few days."
"Can I see her?"I asked
"Not right now.She's in recovery.As soon as we move her to a room
I'll come and get you."
"Thank you doctor."I say turning and hugging Layla.She and I have
gotten close over the last few weeks and I've started trying to get
Clay and Lisa on my side too.
A couple of hours later I was sitting next to Evangeline's bed when
she started to stir.
"Evangeline."
"John is that you?"
"Yes baby it's me."
"How did it go, am I going to get my sight back?"
"The doctor said you made it through the operation beautifully, but
they won't know anything until they take the bandages off in a few
day."
"Will you be here when they take them off."
"I'll always be here."
A few days later I was sitting beside her again as the doctor was
explaining how it would work.
"Evangeline I need you to take you hand and sheild your eyes.I'm
going to remove the bandages and then on the count of 3 I want
you to open your eyes very slowly.Ok."
"Ok."
She sheilded her eyes and he removed the bandages."One, two, three."
She opened her eyes very slowly and I leaned over her and waited
patiently for her to say something.
She smiled and said."I've always loved that dark blue shirt on you."
I kissed her and said."I love you, angel."
She kissed me back and said."I love you too, sunshine."
Then we kissed again and looked toward our future.
