Presumed Dead
Evangeline was driving on a remote stretch of Llatano
Mountain about three weeks after John was killed.
She missed him so much but she had to get out of
Llanview for a while because if one more person asked her how she was holding up she was going to scream.
She had been driving for about two hours when her car
ran out of gas and stopped in the middle of nowhere.
"Damnit."she yelled
She got out of her car and even though she knew it
was dangerous she started walking thinking sooner
or later she'd find a house with a phone.
After walking for about ten minutes she walked up to a
cabin and knocked on the door.
She heard a voice say."Just a second."
She thought to herself."That sounds like.No it can't be."
Just then the door opened and she gasped when she
looked into the eyes of the man she has been mourning for weeks.
"John."was all she could say
John looked around pulled her inside and then said."What the hell are you doing here and how did you know I was here?"
"I'm here because I wanted to get out of Llanview so I
was driving on this side of the mountain when I ran out
of gas so I was trying to find a house so I could use
a phone to call a tow truck.And as far as your other
question I didn't know you were here the last I heard
you were dead."
"Bo and I faked my death to get Spencer Truman.I
couldn't tell anyone or I would be in danger and so
would they."
"So Bo is the only person that knows your here?"she asked
"Yes and that means you have to leave."John said pushing her toward the door.
She snatched away and said."I can't leave remember
my car ran out of gas.So unless you have a phone so
I can call for help then you might as well get used to
me being her."
"No I don't have a phone.What about your cell phone why didn't you use it?"John asked
"Because it won't work on this part of the mountain
smart guy."she said sarcastically.
John started pacing nervously trying to figure out what
to do.
Evangeline watched him and finally said."Will you please sit down.I mean it's not like anyone know either of us are here."
John relaxed and said."You're right.Besides it's only
until Bo comes by tomorrow to bring me my supplies
for the week."
He sat down and they were quiet for a few minutes.
Then John said."Are you hungry?"
"Yeah I'm starving."she said hearing her stomach rumble.
John laughed and said."Ok I'll go fix us some dinner."
"Can I do anything to help?"she asked
"No that's ok.I remember the last time you tried to help
me cook."he said heading toward the kitchen.
"Hey that wasn't my fault you were nibbling on my ear."
she said laughing following him into the kitchen.
A half hour later they sat down to a delicious dinner of
baked chicken and pasta salad.
After dinner they sat on the couch talking.Evangeline
had a glass of wine and John had a beer.
John turned to her and said."Evangeline what went wrong with us?"
She looked at him shocked and said."Are you serious?"
"Yeah I'm serious.What went wrong?"he asked again
"Let me see.First you couldn't tell me you loved me.
Second Natalie kept getting in the middle of our relationship and finally you wouldn't open up."
"Do you still love me?"he asked hopeful
"It doesn't matter."she said nervously as he moved
closer to her.
"Yes it does.Do you still love me?"John asked again as
he moved dangerously close to her lips."Answer the
question counserlor."
Evangeline gasped as she felt his breath on her face.
"Do you still love me?"
"Yes.God help me I still love you."she said as he brought his lips down on top of hers devouring them.
They stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity.
Finally John broke the kiss and said."I love you too."
She looked at him shocked and said."What?"
"I love you too."John said
Evangeline brought her hand up and slapped him with
every ounce of strength she had.
John looked at her stunned and said."What the hell was that for?"
Evangeline stood up put her hands on her hips and said."You want to know what that was for.I'll tell you.It was because you're an ass.We were together for a year and you couldn't say those words.Now all of a sudden you just blurt them out like it's the easiest and most natural thing in the world.Well I'm not buying it."
She stood up to walk across the room and he grabbed
her arm pulling her into a blazing kiss.
She struggled for a few seconds before giving in and
melting into his arms.
When they pulled back for air John said."I love you.I know that I've done alot of things that would prove otherwise and I'm sorry for that but I do love you and I won't deny it anymore.Not to you and not to anyone."
Evangeline looked up into John's eyes that were the
deepest darkest blue she had ever seen and said."Make love to me John.Show me the love you say you feel."
John smiled and pulled her into another kiss.
Before long they were naked on the floor in front of a
blazing fire.
John slowly started kissing down her body pay special
attention to all of the places he'd missed so much.
It didn't take long before they were both ready for the
ultimate release.
"John take me now.Please I can't hold on any longer."
she panted.
John smiled at her lose of control and in one fluid
movement he thrust himself inside her.
After about twenty minutes they came together in a
climax like they had never experienced before.
When he had emptied the last of his seed into her John pulled out and rolled over onto his back pulling her on top of him.
She draped her body over him and looked up into his
face to see a content and happy expression.
"I have something for you."John said sitting up and
reaching for his pants.
Evangeline sat up on her elbows and waited for him to
come back.
John went into the bedroom and came back a minute
later with a long black velvet box.
He sat back down next to her and said."You told me
that I should give these to the woman I love.That's
what I did the day I gave them to you and that's what
I'm doing now.
Evangeline reached for the box with a shaky hand and
opened it to find the pearls he gave her for her birthday.
"Oh God John.I can't believe it.When I gave these back
to you I thought I'd never see them again."
John smiled and said."Hey stop talking and turn around."
Evangeline turned around and John placed them on her neck.
When she turned back to him he said."There now they're back where they belong just like me."
Evangeline leaned in a kissed him.Then they laid back
down and snuggled close to each other falling asleep
happy.
The next morning John woke to the sound of knocking.
He looked over next to him and Evangeline was still
sleeping.
He got up and put his pants back on going to the door.
When he opened it he found Bo and Blair standing there smiling.
"Hey what did you bring her here for?I thought we agreed that no one could know that I was here."
Bo smiled and said."I thought she should be the one
to deliver the news."
"What news?"John asked confused.
"Spencer's in prison.Not just for the Margaret Cochran
thing but for your dad's murder too."Blair said
"What how?"John asked
"It's a long story so why don't you get your stuff and we
can tell you on the way back to Llanview."
John smiled and said."Yeah that sounds great.Come on in while I get everything together."
They both walked in and froze when they saw Evangeline lying on the floor asleep.
John looked down at her and said."Also a long story."
Crouching down he said."Hey Angel wake up.We're going home."
She opened her eyes and when they adjusted to the light she saw Bo and Blair standing behind John and jumped to her feet pulling the blanket over her.
John smiled and said."Go get dressed.We're going back to Llanview."
"Wait what about Spencer?"
"He's in prison.It's over.So let's go home and start our
life together."
She smiled kissed him and grabbed her clothes.
A few minutes later they headed back to Llanview and
they all lived happily ever after.FINALLY.
