A Night Of Ultra Surprises
A few weeks after Evangeline ended things with Todd
she decided to stop feeling sorry for herself and go out
and have some fun.
When she walked into Ultra Violet it was packed.She
walked over to a table toward the stage.It was amateur
night so she thought she'd relax and enjoy the entertainment.
Just as she sat down Rex walked up on stage and
said."Welcome to amateur night.We have great lineup
for you."
The first few acts weren't too bad but the next to the
last act was the worst she had ever seen.
Thankfully they left the stage and Rex came back to the
mic."Alright the last performer for the night is someone
that you all know.He said he'd like to dedicate his
song to Evangeline Williamson.Ladies and gentlemen.
Lt.John McBain."
Evangeline almost choked on her wine.
She looked up to see John walk up on stage wearing
a black dress shirt and tight leather pants.
He smiled at Evangeline and said."I know I've never said this out loud but I love you and if this doesn't prove it nothing will."
He turned to Rex to cue the music and then everyone
but Evangeline disappeared as he started singing.

When he finished he looked up just in time to see
Evangeline running out the door.
John took off after her catching up to her just as she
was about to get into her car.
"Evangeline wait."he said grabbing her arm and turning her around.
Evangeline tried to pull her arm away but he held it tight.
"John let me go."
"No not until you listen to me."
"Fine I'll listen."she said snatching her arm away.
John took a deep breath and said."I know this was a
stupid way to do this but I tried saying the words and
you know how that turned out.I tried writing it down in
a letter but everything I wrote seemed, I don't know,
not enough.This was the only other way I could think
of to tell you how I felt."
Evangeline looked at him angrily and said."John stop it.If you loved me you would've said the words.It's that
simple."
"No it's not that simple.The words have never been
simple for me.I never even said them to Caitlin.To this
day I regret the fact that she died without hearing me
tell her how much I loved her."John said with tears in
his eyes.
"So why now John?Why tell me you love me now?"
Evangeline asked
John took her face in his hands and said."Because I
used to think that saying I love you was the hardest
thing in the world to do but I finally found something
that would be much harder."
"What?"Evangeline asked looking into his eyes that
had never been bluer than they were at that moment.
Tears streamed down his face as he continued to
hold her face.Then he said."I finally relized that even
harder than saying I love you would be for me to live
the rest of my life without you or your love.I found
out something else.When you broke up with me
I stopped living.Evangeline I want to live again.Please
give me back my life.
Then he leaned down and kissed her tenderly on the
lips.
When they pulled back she smiled and said."I love you
too and now that you've finally said those words to me
I expect to hear them every day for the rest of our lives."
John smiled and said."I'll say it so much you'll get sick
of hearing it."then he kissed her again."Can we go now.I can't breathe in these things."
Evangeline laughed and said."If they're so tight why did
you wear them?"
They turned to head toward her car and he said."It was
Balsom's idea.He said you wouldn't be able to take
your eyes off of me."
She leaned in and kissed him then said."He was right.
You've got a great ass McBain."Then she reached down and squeezed his left ass cheek.
"You're gonna get it now."he said and he chased her
to the car.
They went back to his new apartment and started living
again.
