Start All Over Again
It had been three months since John came back from
the "dead" as Manning would say.
Before he came back to Llanview he told Evangeline
that he loved her.That he had always loved her and
now that he was getting his life back he wanted to
start all over again with her.
She told him she needed time to think about it and
he told her to take all the time she needed.
Now three months later he was going crazy waiting
for her to decide if she wanted to give their relationship
another try.
Finally he couldn't wait any longer.So he went to her
apartment.
He stepped into the building and the elevator doors
were closing so he yelled."Hold the elevator please."
The doors opened again and he stepped in and smiled seeing it was Evangeline.
She looked up and said."John what are you doing
here?"
John took a deep breath and said."I know I said I
would give you time but it's been three months and
I can't take it anymore.I need you back and I'll do
anything you want to get you to give me another
chance."
"Anything?"Evangeline said
"Anything."John said nervously
Evangeline thought about it and then said."Will you
sing to me in public?"
John looked at her shocked and said."Me.Sing in
public.Evangeline you really don't want that."
"Yes I do.See I remember you telling me once that
you couldn't carry a tune if your life depended on it.
So I figured that if you agreed to this that you really
would do anything to get me back.So will you sing
to me in public?"
"Are you sure this is what you want?"John asked
hoping she'd say she was just kidding.
"Yes this is what I want."Evangeline said smiling.
"Ok then if this is the only way then I hope you have
plenty of cotton."
"Cotton.Why would I need cotton?"Evangeline asked
confused.
"To stop the blood flow when your ears start bleeding."
John said laughing.
Evangeline laughed to and said."See you tonight McBain."
"See you tonight and I love you."John said exiting the
elevator.
Just before the doors closed Evangeline stuck her
head out and said."Hey where are we meeting?"
John smiled and said."Rodi's.8 o'clock."
"Ok see ya then."Evangeline said stepping back inside.
John went home and started going through his cd
collection.After listening to every cd he had he still
hadn't found a song that would work.
Then he remembered a cd that Starr leant him a few
weeks back.
He went to his closet and pulled it out of his jacket
pocket.He looked at it and couldn't believe she thought
he would like it.
She said Justin Timberlake is awesome.So he stuck
it in the player and started listening.
She was right.He wasn't bad but none of the songs
sounded right until he came to the last one.
After listening to it he decided that it was perfect.So
he spent the next few hours listening to it and memorizing the words.
About an hour and a half before he was supposed to
make his debut he went to shower and change.
Then he spent about twenty minutes calling everyone
they knew.If she wanted him to sing to her in public
he was going to make sure there was a public to
sing in front of.
He walked into Rodi's to see everyone waiting for him.
"Ok Johnny what's going on?"Michael asked
"I'm going to show Evangeline that I love her and that
I want to start over with her."John said just as she
walked in.
She sat down and pulled a big jar of cotton balls out
of her purse and sat it on the table.
John walked over leaned down and said."Very funny."
"What you said bring plenty of cotton balls."She said
John smiled and walked over to the stage.
He stepped up the microphone and said."I want to
thank everyone for coming."then he smiled down at
Evangeline and said."Evangeline said that if I was
brave enough to do this that I deserved another
chance.So I hope you guys are ready because
it's not going to be pretty but if it's what she wants
then I'll do it.Oh and Starr thanks for the cd."
Then he turned to the player stuck the cd in and
adjusted it to only play the music.
The music started and John cleared his throat and
sang.

When he finished he walked over to her table and said
"Well do I get my chance?"
She smiled and said."Yeah you get your chance."
John leaned in kissed her and said."I love you so much and I promise you won't regret this."
"I love you too and I know I won't because if it doesn't
work out this time I'm going to let Layla and my mom
tear you to shreds."
He laughed and then looked down to see that the
jar was empty.
"What happened to all of the cotton balls?"
"Well when you started singing your brother came
over picked it up and started handing them out.He
said that just because this is what I wanted the
rest of them shouldn't have to suffer."
John laughed and said."What do you say we get out
of here?"
"Sounds good to me but promise me one thing."Evangeline said.
"What's that?"John asked.
"Don't ever sing to me again."Evangeline laughed.
"I promise."he said extending his hand.
Evangeline excepted it and they headed for the door
to start all over again.
On the way out John walked by his brother and smacked him on the back of the head.
