Searching For Love
ch.1...She's Gone
John walked up to the door of Evangeline's new office
and knocked.
"Come in."said a male voice.
John opened the door and said."Oh I'm sorry I must have the wrong office.I'm looking for Evangeline Williamson."
"No this is the right office but she doesn't work here
anymore.She quit this morning."the man said smiling.
"Thanks."John said before walking out closing the door
behind him.
He stood outside the door for several minutes before
heading to Nora's office.He needed to find out why she
quit.
A minute later he knocked on Nora's door.
"Come in."Nora said
"Hey do you have a minute?"John said smiling.
"For you I sure do gorgeous."Nora said winking.
"Nora you always were such a flirt."John said walking
in and sitting in the chair in front of her desk.
"I know and you love me for it.What can I do for you darlin?"
"I came by to see Evangeline because I heard about
her breakup with Cris and I wanted to see if she was
ok.When I got here I was told she quit.Did she go back
to her old office in Buchanan Towers?
"No she's leaving town.She left for the airport about an
hour ago."She said hoping he would go after her and
finally give her the love she deserves.
"She left town.Nora where did she go?"John asked rising from his chair heading for the door.
"She wouldn't tell me or Layla.She said she would call
us when she got settled."
"I have to try to catch her.I love her Nora.I always have.
I know I screwed up with us but I want the chance to
fix it.Wish me luck Nora."John said walking out.
"Good luck John."Nora whispered to herself after he
was gone.
About twenty minutes later John walked into the Llanview Metro airport.The airport was so small that it only had one gate.
John walked up to the ticket counter and the woman
behind the counter said."May I help you?"
John pulled a picture of Evangeline out of his pocket
and said."Have you seen this woman?"
She looked at the picture and said."Yes sir.She bought
a ticket for the flight that just left the gate."
John looked out the window just in time to see the plane take off.
"Where was the flight headed?"John asked
"I'm sorry sir I can't divulge that information."she said
"You have to tell me where that flight was headed.The
woman that I love more than life itself is on that flight.
Please tell me where she is going so I can get her
back."John pleaded.
She saw the desparation in his eyes and softened.
She clicked a few buttons on her computer keyboard
and then said."She's headed to New York to catch a
connecting flight to Paris."
John smiled and said."I need a ticket on your next flight
to New York with connecting flight to Paris.I'm going
after the woman I love."
She smiled and after a few more clicks on her keyboard she had John on a flight an hour later.
"Here's your ticket.Good luck.I hope you get her back."
She said.
"Thank you so much Daphne.You don't know how much
this means to me."John said taking his ticket.
An hour later he was on a flight to New York in a search
for love.
